NIV Compact Thinline Bible [Melon Green/Espresso Duo-Tone] (Imitation Leather)ZondervanOasis International’s mission is to provide affordable books and Bibles on a sustainable basis to regions of the English-speaking world where poverty is pervasive. There are 200 million Christians in Africa who do not have a Bible. The Oasis Bible Project is all about giving beyond the gift. For every one of these Bibles purchased, $5 will be given to Oasis International. That $5 will aid in the distribution of Bibles for years to come for Christians in Africa--a rollover effect of approximately 5 Bibles each year indefinitely. This has the potential of making great positive strides in increasing literature distribution to tens of thousands of growing churches.

InterviewBible Distribution in Adamawa State, Northeastern NigeriaChristian students in Nigerian public schools attend Christian Religious Studies classes each week. But most do not have their textbook, the Bible. Oasis Student Bible project is designed to meet this need.
Oasis sent a team to distribute student Bibles in schools in Adamawa State in northeastern Nigeria. Students were to be notified ahead of time that Bibles will be available so that they could prepare to bring their $3.00. Our team arrived at Government Secondary School where many were boarding students and came from surrounding villages. Somehow, the students had not been told that we were coming. The Principal called them to assemble on the field where they lined up for the announcement that Bibles were available that day. After the announcement, many students started running from the school; some were crying. Shehu Goje, who was in charge of the project could see them disappearing into the distance and was perplexed. He asked the Principal what was happening.
"Most of these children have never had an opportunity to have a Bible," he responded. "Because they were not prepared, they are running home to their villages to ask their parents and aunts and uncles and neighbors to help them with the $3 they need to buy their own Bible. They may walk several hours tonight, and will come back in the morning. You must stay tonight, as many will be back tomorrow to buy their Bible." And for many of these students, this would also be the first Bible for their family and community. ~Craig, Managing Director for Oasis Distributions in Nigeria Look For Similar Products By Subject |
